I did my research for 3 years before selecting Dr. Rankin for my breast explant and tummy tuck. My surgery was originally scheduled 15 months from my original consultation, but due to schedule changes my surgery was done 9 months later. Dr. Rankin is courteous, kind and has a positive attitude. I accidentally pulled out my last drain early and had to have another put in later but that was not his fault. The staff is so friendly and kind, and you can tell that they get along with other quite well. Overall I am very pleased with Dr. Rankin, his staff, and his ability to give me his professional care! Not only was Dr. Rankin the best but his staff was amazing. I decided after a two year battle of whether to get my implants out or not and research to finally do it. I was in a really bad space with my health and in my personal life. 4 days prior to my explant I filed for divorce… and while this has nothing to do with my explant I showed up just an emotional wreck. Dr. Rankin and his staff sat with me and comforted me as I was alone waiting for my procedure. I’ll never forget that. My surgery went perfect. I have my old body back and I have never been happier.

Here’s my story. I am 4 weeks post explant surgery. I had my breast implants in for a little over 19 years. After having breastfed my kids, and sagging, I wanted a lift. At that time, implants were suggested for more volume at the top of the breast. In hindsight, I would’ve only had a lift done because I really didn’t need the implants. But I can’t regret that decision now. Thankfully, I never had any issues or symptoms from the implants. I did have an idea that there is a maintenance where you should be replacing or removing them every 10 years, but I was just going to leave them alone. In this last year I started wanting to be more natural and the implants weren’t serving their purpose any longer. I wanted to do it while I’m still young and not worry about going under the knife ever again. Ironically, most women’s response was one of surprise when I said I was choosing to remove them. It’s as if it’s just normal to have implants and strange to choose to take them out. It honestly made me realize that our culture doesn’t seem to embrace natural breasts anymore. But I knew what I wanted to do. I was actually excited and looking forward to it despite the strange responses. My choice to go with Dr. Rankin and his team was the best decision I ever made. He is an incredible surgeon and his staff is just amazing. From scheduling my consultation, to having my surgery, I have always had very positive interactions with everyone there. The staff is so helpful, informative, and kind. And when I met Dr. Rankin at my consultation I just knew I wanted him to do my surgery. I am so happy with my decision because it turned out that one of my implants was ruptured. It could’ve been worse and I am grateful. Incidentally, after my surgery, some of those same women have said that my decision has inspired them to think of removing their implants now as well. I appreciate that I could be the one to make them think differently about it. Dr. Rankin and his staff are the only ones I would recommend for that journey. I can’t thank them enough! I took my health into my own hands. Now I’m free! I have had an amazing experience and I love my results.

My experience with Dr Rankin and his staff is a 20 out of 10! I'm so happy and grateful for Dr Rankin . I researched a very long time and when I found Dr Rankin I knew he was the surgeon for me. I am on day seven I've had zero pain and I'm super happy and thrilled with my results results after having implants for 40 years. I'm excited to have myself back. I feel like I can breathe and it looks beautiful. Thanks to Dr Rankin skill. He's amazing. I wouldn't trust anyone else. I saw a lot of doctors and I came from California. Best decision I have made!

Amazing doctor and staff, made me feel safe and comfortable

BII is real and the symptoms you are feeling are legit. You are not crazy and do not let anyone tell you otherwise. I had breast implants the past 15 years. WORST decision ever!!! I am a single mom to 4 amazing kids. I am 42 years old and have struggled with rheumatoid arthritis since I was two years old. These past 4 years my body was falling apart. From constant doctor’s appointments and specialist with no answers. Numerous testing that all came back normal. Deep down inside I knew that something was terribly wrong with my body. All I was ever told was that I was having anxiety and depression. I had so many symptoms too many to even count. I started hearing about BII and doing my own research on it and reaching out to other women who have had explant removal. I met with two different doctors regarding this issue and I knew deep in my heart. That Dr Rankin was the one. Dr Rankin literally save my life. I was at the end of my ropes and didn’t know what else to do. I finally made the appointment which originally was scheduled for a year and a half out. For the first time in over six months, I have not had a migraine after my cycle, which is unbelievable. No more dizziness, anxiety, brain fog, fatigue, heart palpitations and the list goes on. I finally feel free and my kids have their mother back. I am forever grateful for Dr Rankin and his whole entire team. They are truly AMAZING and the best team ever!!!! BII IS REAL My surgery date: August 7/2024 I had saline implants under the muscle for 26 years feeling strange pains all over my body only after 1 year of that surgery, I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me, so it went on dealing with symptoms and it only got worse for me. For the past eight years, I endured many debilitating symptoms and pain on my upper torso that impacted every daily task, to the point that I had to close my small business, so by now, I knew I had to get my Implants out if wanted to live. First I got diagnosed with Sjögren’s Syndrome, I went to different doctors for other symptoms that got pretty bad, so doctors said that it could be MS because I couldn’t walk without assistance at some point, I had dizziness, constant bladder issues that mimicked UTI’s, Esophagitis, Brain zaps & eye stabbing pains, so CT scans & Brain MRI’s came out ok, it was hard to feel disabled, and not getting any answers was the worst. It was crazy, I went constantly to Rheumatologists, then cardiologist, Neurologist, 2 ER visits, walk in clinic 6 times in 4 months this year 2024 and all was fine?!, at this dead end it was time to take a different path, BII had to be the reason of my problems, I read about it, I saw many stories about BII that I could relate to, I was terrified. so I needed to find a Surgeon. After extensive research I found about the incredible Dr. Rankin and my surgery date was set, and what followed was truly amazing. From the moment I met Dr. Rankin, I knew I was in the hands of an exceptional surgeon. His meticulous attention to detail gave me the assurance I needed to go ahead with the surgery, and it turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m happy to say that my surgery was a complete success.The excruciating pain that had plagued my chest, back and ribs for so long is gone!, I’m in disbelief!, no dizziness, and many other symptoms that I felt daily are gone, and hopefully all the bad will stay away. Now It has been almost 5 weeks since my surgery, and like a miracle as I mentioned above, I haven’t felt pain again since the explant, to be honest, I can’t tell my story without tears flooding my eyes. It is unbelievable to feel free from so much affliction, because many of those symptoms would hit me at once, I was falling apart so fast. Today I happily say that my recovery process has been smooth, and has been kindly guided by Dr. Rankin and his amazing professional team. I am so lucky. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Rankin for his expertise and kindness, If anyone is considering explant surgery, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Rankin, his skill is unmatched, and I cannot thank him enough for this new beginning.
